Freeze the Fat

“Many non-invasive treatments for fat removal have been tried over the years and a new technology called CoolSculpting® has now met that challenge” – states Dr. Thomas A. Leach of the Princeton Center for Plastic Surgery. This FDA-cleared technique, recently developed by two Harvard scientists, takes advantage of fat cells sensitivity to the cold.  The targeted cooling process causes disruption of the fat cells while leaving the other local cells unharmed.  The fat cells die off in a very predictable manner and are naturally eliminated from your body.

Dr. Leach  notes that “The real beauty of this procedure is that it is truly non-invasive – no anesthesia, no cutting, no post-operative garments, and absolutely no down-time.” At the completion of the procedure the patient walks out of the office and resumes all activities with no restrictions.

CoolSculpting® is currently being used primarily for areas around the trunk such as love handles, muffin tops, and upper and lower abdomen.  The ideal candidate is generally fit and has a few stubborn areas that seem to resist to diet and exercise.
