About Dr. Thomas A. Leach
Dr. Leach obtained his medical degree from New Jersey Medical School (Rutgers New Jersey Medical School) in Newark, New Jersey. He completed his residency in general surgery and subsequently was appointed as Chief Resident in General Surgery and he completed his Fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at University of Medicine and Dentistry, New Jersey Medical School. He received his Board Certification by American Board of Plastic Surgery and is an active member in the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, as well as the New Jersey Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Dr. Leach has active hospital privileges at the prestigious Penn Medicine Princeton Health (Princeton Medical Center). He also served as the Section Chief for the Department of Plastic Surgery for several years.
Dr. Leach served as Major in United States Army Reserves Medical Corps attached to 322nd General Hospital for 17 years. He conducted research during his medical studies, residency, and fellowship on the following topics:
- Studied post-translational protein modification in regenerating goldfish central nervous system tissue.
- Clinical research involving pulmonary embolism prophylaxis in multiple trauma patients by placement of a Greenfield Vena Cava Filter.
- Clinical research involving refinement of antihelical folding in otoplasty.
