Why Should You Have Brow Lift Surgery?
A brow lift or forehead lift is a cosmetic surgical procedure which targets the skin on your forehead to give you a more youthful look. Forehead rejuvenation has undergone quite a transition in recent years. The use of neurotoxins such as, BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport® has frequently replaced the surgical approach for many patients. There do remain, however, a group of patients for which a brow lift surgery remains the best option. Those included in this group of patients are resistant to or afraid of neurotoxins, and patients that need a significant elevation of their brow and eyebrow.
Dr. Thomas Leach advises his patients that a brow lift allows plastic surgeons to permanently disable the muscles that produce the horizontal wrinkles across the forehead, as well as the muscles that produce the vertical lines between the eyebrows. A brow lift also allows surgeons to reposition the static height of the eyebrows-providing a more alert appearance and a more aesthetic shape to the eyebrows. Dr. Leach frequently combines a brow lift with a blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) for a complete rejuvenation of the area around the eyes.
A brow lift performed alone or with an eyelid lift is an excellent procedure that Dr. Thomas Leach, board-certified plastic surgeon has used to help many women and men obtain a more youthful appearance.
Who Can Benefit from a Brow Lift?
A brow lift is an operation that men and women who are experiencing the following conditions, may benefit from undergoing a brow lift.
- Deep creases/folds on the forehead
- Lower eyebrow position
- Frown lines or furrows across the top of your nose
Dr. Leach explains that the primary difference between a brow lift, and a facelift is the area(s) of the face being targeted for cosmetic enhancement. The main difference is:
- A brow lift focuses on the skin and areas in the upper regions of the face
- A facelift focuses on the skin in the lower portion of the face which includes the midsection of your face and your neck.
Dr. Leach recommends a facelift for those patients who desire to reduce wrinkles, tighten sagging skin, and overall rejuvenate your face to a more youthful appearance; whereas, if the individual only desires to tighten up the forehead and sections between your eyebrows, a brow lift may be the recommended procedure.
Dr. Thomas Leach can help you determine if you are a candidate for brow lift surgery and which procedure(s) will enhance your face. Also, Dr. Leach can advise you on the benefits of combining procedures to maximize your desired results. A brow lift can be done as a solo procedure or, if Dr. Leach advises, with other facial surgery procedures such as a blepharoplasty (eyelid lift) and facelift.
