Are you looking for a minimally invasive liposuction procedure?
Smartlipo, manufactured by Cynosure®, is an innovative medical device used to perform laser-assisted lipolysis (laser liposuction). Laser liposuction uses laser energy to heat the excess sub-cutaneous fat pockets. Smartlipo is different from traditional laser-assisted liposuction, as it not only liquefies fat in target areas but uses another type of wavelength which tightens tissues and skin in the area, as well as increasing collagen production.
As a cosmetic fat reduction and body contouring procedure, liposuction is a safe surgical procedure that has been available for 30+ years.
Smartlipo is a revolutionary minimally invasive body contouring technology that targets stubborn areas of fat with little to no downtime. Princeton, NJ board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Thomas Leach, effectively uses Smartlipo on men and women who have troublesome fat deposits on various parts of their body. He advises patients that the significant advantage of having a Smartlipo liposuction procedure is that patients experience less pain, downtime, and recovery is faster than traditional liposuction. However, not everyone is an ideal candidate, and you will need to schedule a consultation with Dr. Leach so he can determine if you are eligible for Smartlipo.
What Areas of The Body Can Be Treated with Smartlipo?
The Smartlipo laser body contouring system uses laser-assisted lipolysis to permanently remove fat deposits in various parts of the body including:
- Bra Fat
- Thighs (inner and outer)
For individuals who are at their ideal weight or close to it and have troublesome problem areas that will not respond to exercise and diet, Smartlipo can help. Some of the advantages of Cynosure’s Smartlipo compared to traditional liposuction are:
- Reliable, controlled delivery of targeted energy
- Better body sculpting capabilities
- Enhanced skin tightening
- Less bleeding and bruising than liposuction
- Less downtime
How Does the Smartlipo Body Contouring System Work?
Dr. Leach explains to his Smartlipo patients that a local anesthesia is used to numb the specific area(s) of the body being treated. Patients are sedated with an oral medication, typically Xanax during the procedure. Next, the Smartlipo laser fiber is inserted via a small, thin tube into your body to allow the laser to liquefy the targeted fat. The liquefied fat is then gently suctioned out.
This specialized type of laser liposuction has several distinct advantages. First, it tightens skin more than any other method, whereas other types of liposuction can leave people with loose or sagging skin. Second, it is much faster. One treatment is sufficient for many people and results can be seen within a week. Over time there is continued improvement. Recovery time can be as short as just a few days.
