How Does CoolSculpting® Work?
Fat reduction and popsicles. What do the two have to do with each other? Amazing but true, the science of cryolipolysis – the origin of CoolSculpting® was discovered by Harvard scientists after they noticed that children who ate a lot of popsicles formed dimples in their cheeks due to the reduction of fat in that area resulting in the CoolSculpting® technology. This unique, patented, clinically proven system targets the fat cells and freezes them so that they can be flushed out of your body.
CoolSculpting® uses cold temperatures to freeze and destroy fat cells in the areas of the body targeted for fat reduction treatment. The special applicator that is placed on the patient’s skin uses gentle suction to pull the tissue closer to effectively target the fat. Patients report that CoolSculpting® treatments are comfortable and they don’t feel any discomfort. The cool temperature will numb the treatment area so the procedure is relaxing, and many patients can relax during the treatment time.
